Lou began his career as a MetLife Sales Executive in 1988, and then joined his father in 1989 as employee #2 of what went on to become the largest public-entity Employee Benefits Broker/Consultant operation in NJ – LDP Consulting Group, Inc.

Lou served as LDP’s President for 5 years prior to being acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance in January of 2008. Over the last 9 years, Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors has grown to be the second largest Employee Benefits Broker/Consultant operation within all Brown & Brown Insurance, managing over $900 million in annual premiums.Lou has been at the forefront of BBBA’s specialized approach with union contract negotiations, collective bargaining and union grievance resolution, which has been instrumental in successfully managing our clients’ employee benefit programs for over 25 years.

As a perennial public speaker on numerous employee benefit topics, Lou is frequently asked to present to industry association events such as NJ League of Municipalities, NJ Association of School Administrators, NJ Association of School Business Administrators (he is a Past-President of NJASBO’s Associate Business Members group), NJ School Boards Association, and the National Health Underwriters Association.

Jason began his health insurance career in 1997 with LDP Consulting Group, Inc. which was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance in 2008. He manages all aspects of a client’s group health benefits needs, with a focus on employer health benefit compliance matters.

Prior to working in insurance, he was employed in public accounting with Jones, Hayward and Lenzi for 3 years providing corporate tax and governmental accounting and audit services.Jason is a sought-after speaker on a variety of topics including collective bargaining, and state and federal regulation/compliance issues, with an emphasis on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”). He is a valuable and available resource to clients, colleagues, and employer groups such as New Jersey School Boards Association, and New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (state and local).

He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting with honors from Philadelphia University. Jason’s is a licensed insurance producer in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania for Life and Health.

Anthony’s career began in 1989 at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, first as a large group underwriter.

After two years, he transferred into the sales department and spent several years cultivating his group insurance and employee benefits expertise with both public and private sector clients. In 1995 he joined Grispec Consulting as a Regional Vice President specializing in the public-sector market. After being acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance in 2007, Anthony continues to manage Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors new and existing educational and municipal public sector business in northern New Jersey.Anthony is a highly regarded public speaker at the Essex, Union and Passaic County Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) chapters on many topics including union negotiations, Affordable Care Act, compliance & regulatory issues and legislative updates, just to name a few.

He is a graduate of Gettysburg College, and he holds New Jersey producer licenses in both Life & Health, and Property & Casualty.

Laura started her career in the insurance industry over 43 years ago, with Great West Life Assurance Company, initially in customer service then moving up to Assistant Manager of Sales.

She was responsible for sales and service for mostly public sector clients, as well as large corporate groups in the management of their employee benefit programs. After 15 years with GWL she accepted the position as the Benefits and Risk Manager for Edison Parking Corporation overseeing the benefits and insurance programs for over 1,700 employees, and 180 locations in 27 states.After leaving Edison Parking Corp., Laura became a retail business owner for the next 5 years. She was one of the founding members, and first president, of the Passaic County Chapter for the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners.

In 2000, Laura joined LDP Consulting Group working almost exclusively with New Jersey School Districts throughout the northern part of the state, and continued after LDP was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance in 2008. At Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors, she is involved in the placement of insurance plans and ongoing servicing of her clients, along with her team of 4 experienced professionals. She also takes an active role with her clients in the collective bargaining process. Laura holds her New Jersey producer licenses in both Life and Health Insurance.

Laura has been a frequent presenter at state and local NJASBO (New Jersey Association of School Business Officials) meetings, and has participated in many New Jersey School Boards Association’s workshops throughout the state.

Jim is a 28-year veteran of the New Jersey public sector group insurance marketplace, and started his career with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey in 1989 as an underwriter before joining Grinspec Consulting in 1995.

Grinspec was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance in 2007 and the firm was renamed Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors in 2011, where Jim has continued to provide guidance and service for over 40 educational and municipal clients across six counties in New Jersey. His success with clients has garnered him the #1 new business producer for Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors for 15 out of the past 23 years.Jim’s expertise with public sector markets ranges from rate negotiations, funding arrangements and carrier performance to compliance/regulatory issues and Healthcare Reform. He is a sought after public speaker by New Jersey School Boards Association, New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, and was instrumental as a speaker for these and other associations when the Affordable Care Act was implemented.

Jim has proudly served in the U.S. Military from 1986 – 1991 with the 50th Military Police Co., New Jersey Army National Guard (Cadet Platoon Leader); Army ROTC Advance Camp, as well as Company A, 2nd Battalion, 78th USAR Division, and the 12th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Knox serving both as a Platoon Leader.

Jim graduated from Rutgers with a BA in Political Science, and received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) registration from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He holds New Jersey Producer licenses in Life, Health, and Property & Casualty.

Gary has been in the insurance industry for 25 years and started his career with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey in 1992 as an account manager.

He left Horizon in 1996 and joined LDP Consulting Group, and was assigned to expand their New Jersey public sector market concentrating on Boards of Education. In 2008 LDP Consulting Group was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance.Gary currently works out of Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors Shrewsbury office consulting clients in Monmouth and Ocean counties with marketing and negotiations to compliance guidance and member services, with a strong emphasis on client services.

Gary is a graduate of Stockton University with a BS in Accounting, and holds his New Jersey Producer license in both Health and Life, as well as being an associate member of NJASBO.

Jack has been in the group insurance business for 27 years, and began his career at Cigna Healthcare where he held the positions of Underwriter and Account Executive.

He then joined Horizon Healthcare as a Regional Marketing Executive in their Corporate and Major Accounts Divisions. Jack became part of Grinspec Consulting in 1995 as a Benefits Consultant to service southern New Jersey clients in both public and private sector markets.After the 2007 acquisition by Brown & Brown Insurance, Jack continued through Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors to grow business in Mercer, Burlington, Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, Camden, and Gloucester counties. His areas of expertise include financial analysis, collective bargaining, managed care delivery systems, legislative compliance, and plan designs.

Jack is a graduate of Rutgers University, and holds New Jersey producer licenses in Life and Health, and is currently pursuing the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation.

Brian started his career in the insurance industry at LDP Consulting Group in 1994 as a benefits consultant trainee under Lou Della Penna Sr., and then Lou Della Penna Jr. for one year before venturing out to create his own clientele in the public-sector market.

LDP was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance in 2009, and in 2011 the firm was renamed Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors where Brian continues to provide his school and municipal clients with expert guidance seamlessly through the processes of developing benefit strategies, financial analysis, carrier changes, collective bargaining, and enrollment.Brian is an active member of NJASBO and has been speaker at their events presenting a wide array of topics from underwriting negotiations to the Affordable Care Act.

He is a graduate of Robert Morris University, and holds his New Jersey Producer License in both Life and Health.

Ted has been in the insurance industry for 30 years, and gained in-depth knowledge of health insurance from his 15 years with Prudential. He then moved on to become Vice President of the Clifford C. Carr Agency’s Public Sector Division in Wall Township.

Ted left the Clifford C. Carr Agency to join the Grinspec Consulting team in 1995, and was assigned to the task of expanding their Municipal market share. In 2007 Grinspec was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance in 2007, with a renaming to Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors in 2011.Ted’s background includes 15 years as an elected official in Municipal government. He was a founding member and served two years as Chairman of the Monmouth County Joint Insurance Fund, as well as serving two years as the Chairman of the Monmouth & Ocean Municipal Health Insurance Fund. He was past President of the Monmouth County Municipal Association, and a former Mayor of Neptune. Ted is still active in the New Jersey Conference of Mayor’s and is a recipient of the Former Mayor of the year award. His insight into the workings of municipal government is a valuable asset to Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors.

Ted is an Alumnus of Monmouth University, and obtained his Registered Health Underwriter’s designation through The American College in 2008. Presently, he is working toward his Registered Benefit Employee Consultant’s designation. He holds New Jersey and New York producer licenses in both Life & Health and Property & Casualty.

Billy started his career in the employee benefits and health insurance industries in 2005 with a focus on large, medium and small private-sector market businesses in the tristate region.

He has worked on all sides of the industry including Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Verizon, and CheckPointHR before joining Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors in January of 2016.Prior to solidifying his career in the insurance industry, Billy proudly served in the U.S. Military, U.S. Army Military Police from 1999 through 2006 at Camp Humphreys in South Korea and the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.

Billy earned a BS in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix, and he holds producer licenses in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Florida in Life, Health, and Property & Casualty.

Lisa’s career in the Health Insurance and Employee Benefits industries started over 30 years ago, with Independence Blue Cross (IBC), where she was involved with the national account and public sector markets.

After 10 years with IBC, Lisa transitioned to AmeriHealth Insurance Company (a division of IBC), where she spent another 8 years working in the 500+ and public sector markets managing over $275,000,000 in annual premium.In 2004, Lisa joined Grinspec Consulting with a concentration on the public-sector market in South Jersey, and in 2007, Grinspec was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance. With Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors Lisa continues to offer her consultative expertise to Board of Education clients on long-term benefit strategies, union negotiations, regulatory guidance, and employee educational meetings and open enrollments.

Lisa holds New Jersey producer licenses in Life and Health, and is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Edward Snyder

Ed’s career began in education as a teacher with Collingswood Board of Education, and rose through the ranks to serve as their Assistant Principal.

After 15 years with Collingswood, he joined the Audubon Public Schools as their Business Administrator before becoming the Superintendent of Schools for the Haddon Heights Public Schools from 1992 to 2004.After retiring from education, Ed came to LDP Consulting Group in 2004 specializing in the public-sector market. His unique experiences in public education gives his clients the reassurance that he understands their business and employee benefit needs. Brown & Brown Insurance acquired LDP in 2009 and now as Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors, he continues to consult and guide his clients through renewals, negotiations and plan implementations.

Ed received a BA from Penn State University and a MA from Rider University, both in Education. He holds New Jersey Producer licenses in both Health and Property & Casualty.

Diane has over 25 years of experience in employee benefits and insurance covering several areas of the industry. She started her insurance career with Eastern Benefit Systems as their Marketing Director.

She was then employed by Aetna International as a Sales Director for American Schools Overseas, among many other multi-national companies. In 2003 Diane went to Globex International as a Vice President before joining the team at LDP Consulting Group in 2005 just a few years prior to the acquisition by Brown & Brown Insurance.As Assistant Vice President for Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors, Diane is a key team member for clients that is well versed in group medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability. She is actively involved in renewal negotiations, new carrier implementation and group employee education. Her industry knowledge also extends to overseas health care markets, multinational pooling, local insurance products and portable health insurance.

Diane is a licensed producer in New Jersey for health, and is an active NJASBO Associate Member.

Mary started her career working in the chemical industry in 1973 at Rohm and Haas (now Dow Chemical), spending several years as a field sales representative selling industrial chemicals in a business to business environment before moving into a marketing research position where she remained until 1981.

After spending a decade living overseas, Mary returned to the U.S. in 1999 and worked in biotech at Cell & Molecular Technologies, Inc., and Immunicon Corp. (now Johnson & Johnson) as a research scientist developing products for cancer diagnosis and monitoring.In 2006, Mary joined LDP Consulting Group assisting their New Jersey school district clients in the administration of their employee benefits’ programs. In 2009 LDP Consulting was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance. Mary is involved in all aspects of client servicing including marketing, employee education, and new carrier implementation at Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors. Mary is also a member of Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors Regulatory and Compliance team. With this team, she has participated in several educational workshops throughout the state through New Jersey School Boards Association speaking on the topic of ACA reporting.

Mary has a BA in Chemistry from La Salle University, and holds her New Jersey producer licenses in both Life and Health Insurance.

Brooke Frapwell

Brooke joined the insurance industry in 2002 with a focus on voluntary benefits. Representing American Family Life Assurance Company (Aflac) she moved from agent to District Sales Coordinator within her first year and remained in that position for eight years.

She received FAME (Founders Award for Management Excellence) for 13 quarters in a row during her tenure at Aflac.After 13 years, she relocated from California to Pennsylvania, where she joined Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors as Assistant Vice President, Voluntary Benefits. The position quickly evolved to Assistant Vice President, Employee Benefits, where she now assists SVP, Jim Finn, designing, marketing, and managing his book of Public Sector, Board of Education clients.

She is a graduate of the University of Rochester with a BA in History. Brooke holds New Jersey Producers licenses in Life and Health, as well as non-resident licenses in Pennsylvania and California.

Tammy started her career in 1995 with Grinspec Consulting as the receptionist, and after six months was promoted to a Customer Service Representative. As a CSR, she was responsible for client service support to the sales and account management team.

In 2005, Tammy then moved on to the Account Executive position at Grinspec Consulting. In this new position, she was responsible for managing an existing book of business. In 2007, Grinspec Consulting was acquired by Brown & Brown Insurance, which in turn, was re-branded as Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors in 2011.In 2016, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President responsible for maintaining client and carrier relationships, while also managing the resolution of global client and escalated employee issues. She is also responsible for the RFP and renewal process for all lines of coverage for the clients she manages every year. Along with these duties, she is also the Insurance Operations Liaison (IOL) for Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors, which requires managing and overseeing that the procedures are being performed per corporate policies.

Tammy holds New Jersey producer licenses in Life & Health.

Mike began his career in 2006 at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey working as an administrative assistant in the Labor and Gaming market. After two years, he was promoted to the role of account consultant, supporting both internal and external customers and handling escalated concerns.

In 2011, Mike was promoted to the Account Manager role with Horizon, servicing the public-sector market. In this position, he was responsible for managing a large book of business, including client retention as well as handling new sales.He joined Brown and Brown Benefit Advisors in 2017 as an Assistant Vice President, responsible for maintaining client and carrier relationships, while also managing the resolution of global client and escalated employee issues.

Mike holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University. He is also a licensed insurance producer in New Jersey for Life and Health.
